Firelight: Words by James Sullivan and Music by Lewis Nellson

FIRELIGHT

1st Verse
As the twilight shadows steal around us, dear –
And the wintry winds make hill and vale so drear, –
Join me where the firelight embers are aglow –
Watching fairy visions as they come and go.

Chorus
Firelight, firelight bring to view,
Faces of loved ones we both knew,
Shadows that are formed by the dying glow,
Bring back memories of long ago.

Firelight, firelight cast your spell,
What has fate in store, please tell?
As we sit and ponder,
Letting fancies wander,
You fill us with delight firelight.

2nd Verse
Like the firelight, dearest, if love’s passion glows, –
Life is filled with endless sunshine and repose, –
But love unrequited leaves one grey and cold, –
Like the dead charred embers that we now behold.

Chorus
Firelight, firelight bring to view,
Faces of loved ones we both knew,
Shadows that are formed by the dying glow,
Bring back memories of long ago.

Firelight, firelight cast your spell,
What has fate in store, please tell?
As we sit and ponder,
Letting fancies wander,
You fill us with delight firelight.
